oil paintings / pet portraits

I realize that most artists have strict break-down of prices, but I do not work from a formula.
Every portrait is as different as the requests of the client and the character of the subject.

Prices range from $950.00 to $3,500
according to size, complexity and number of animals featured.

email with questions.

I require the best available pictures of the subject.
Preferably high definition digital.
Paws when possible.
I would prefer to have at least one conversation with you before I begin work. It helps me a great deal to understand how you feel about your animal companions.

I begin work when I have received half the payment.

We can work together on the choice of portrait style or I can show you a few basic
'scetches'. If you approve a concept I will create a digital image to show how your painting will look.

The balance is due on approval of the final oil painting.

There would be an extra charge for adding other animals or personal items,
Such as favorite toys or objects with special significance to the family.
In the past I have incorporated a family crest in others a brooch or a portrait in the background of the owner or a beloved, deceased pet.

The whole process usually takes between 6 and 12 weeks.
However, due to my recent appearance on ABC's NIGHTLINE§ion=1206872&playlist=1887643

I must temporarily change my estimate to between 12 and 20 weeks.

Paintings are shipped at cost+$10.00 in a roll unless you have a special request.
