This is the late, great GIZMO as Jaques Louis David might have painted her.
Dear Gizzy was about 20 years old when I made this portrait. She went on to live another 2 years and was the most amazing cat I ever encountered.
I also made a sepia portrait of her as Queen Victoria....
This cat was 'never amused!'
But she was always amusing.
Sometimes she would be posed so innocently in the sun, like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, when I would catch sight of the tip of a tell-tale feather, still trapped between her claws.
That little imp is illustrated in "The Little Duchess of Devon" again as Jaques Louis David might have envisioned her.
